The Gallery Church was started by Aaron Coe and a team of eight other individuals in New York City in September 2006. On the church website, Coe states that he has, "a dream to see people passionately embrace their life's calling and live that out through the local church, in the context of the city."

In 2008 the Gallery Church launched "City Uprising" which through an intensive four-day worship and service experience, hopes to inspire resolute commitment to the local church, raise awareness of the need to reach the world's major cities with the love and compassion of Jesus Christ through new churches, and build a bridge into the heart of the city through love and service. A group from our church will took part in City Uprising 2009 in New York City!
